A Christian Ending: Death & Afterlife
St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a weekend conference entitled A Christian Ending: Death & the Afterlife, on February 13–15, 2026, at St. Elias Church in Sylvania, OH.
This three-day retreat led by Archimandrite Jeremy Davis, will explore an Orthodox Christian understanding of death and eternal life, offering both theological insight and pastoral guidance for living with faith and peace in the face of mortality.

Archimandrite Jeremy Davis
Archimandrite Jeremy (Davis) is a pastor, theologian, and Archiepiscopal Vicar for the Diocese of Toledo and the Midwest. A convert to Orthodoxy whose journey was shaped by a deep encounter with the Church’s worship and theology, he brings years of pastoral experience, teaching, and ministry to his speaking.
Drawing on Orthodox tradition and lived pastoral care, his talk, “A Christian Ending: Death & the Afterlife,” offers a compassionate, hope-filled vision of death and eternal life—inviting listeners to face mortality with faith in the risen Christ and the promise of the life to come.
